Meet the newlyweds

Charlotte & Peter

Wedding day at MB: 29th May 2023
Wedding style: Relaxed, simple and full of love

Why did you choose Manoir Beaulieu?

Charlotte had dreamed of getting married in the area since she was young as her parents owned a property in one of the neighbouring villages. After a very quick google search, we found MB and thought it was perfect. We then facetimed Lauren and KNEW it was perfect and that she was the perfect person to host our day.

How did you two meet - is there a juicy story behind your first date?

We met when we were 15 years old in a local park, introduced by a mutual friend. Fast forward 11 years, we reconnected for a catch up. Peter turned up to my house all dressed up for our evening and I was in joggers, ready with the pizza and beers. He moved in 6 months later.

What was your dress goals or inspiration, and who was the designer?

honestly wasn’t sure what I would wear but I knew it would be very simple. I bought the first dress I tried on. It wasn’t anything I would imagine wearing but I loved it. It has a beautiful beaded body in the shape of feathers, a low back and plain ivory skirt.

Where did you get your theme inspiration from?

I think naturally we both opt for natural colours and styles – especially for the children I think they photograph nicely and not really something we searched for as such. We use Pinterest a lot for inspiration, we like the idea of using dried flowers as they are something you can keep forever.

The florist was great at finding local material that she could get hold of easily. She also dyed some French linen in a sage green for the napkins and table runners which we think worked really well.

Your wedding feast, what did you eat?
We had the sharing platers which were incredible.
Peter had the duck and everyone said it was divine, so tender! Charlotte had the aubergine, which was delicious. Everyone had chocolate torte and a cheese course later during the dance. The food was unbelievable and is still spoken about by our guests.
What was your first dance song?
Alicia Keys – If I ain’t got you! What a song!
What was your favourite part of the day?
Everything. We would do it all over again.
Peter enjoyed welcoming everyone in the court yard and I enjoyed spying on them all from the window. The ceremony was amazing, Gaynor, the celebrant captured every detailed perfectly. But I think our favourite part was the few moments somewhere quiet in the property where we stood back and watched everyone we love together. How good is love?!
And of course the food and the dancing was so much fun! As I said, we loved it all!!
What do you hope the future holds for you two?
We are hoping to explore more of the world, start a family and enjoy each moment together.
What wedding advice would you give to future couples?
It doesn’t have to be stressful. Do exactly what you want, it’s your day and its so worth it.

Kind words from Charlotte & Peter

It was honestly the most wonderful day. Lauren and James made our whole stay and wedding day completely perfect! The venue is stunning, the food was by far the most fantastic wedding food we have ever had and they had incredible contacts for flowers, photography and wine. Our stay and day was more than we could have ever dreamed of! There is no doubt we will be going back – along with half of our wedding guests, who all commented how amazing this place was!
