Frequently asked questions

We understand that planning a wedding can be daunting, especially when it’s in another country. That’s why we are different. If you choose Manoir Beaulieu as your wedding venue, it doesn’t stop there – we are with you every step of the way, before and on the wedding day.

We can help to liaise and coordinate with suppliers for you here in France, as well as managing all the wedding day setup and clearing away, so you don’t have to worry about a thing.

Here’s a few other frequently asked wedding questions that we often get asked…

Is there on-site accommodation?

Yes, we can sleep up to 12 guests in the main house, over 5 bedrooms. This becomes your home for the wedding stay, complete with your own contemporary kitchen, spacious lounge, terrace, pool and grounds.

What accommodation is nearby?

There is nearby accommodation for approx 46 additional guests, all within walking distance (max 25 mins) from us.

We have a huge curated list of further accomodation all within a 10 minute drive, or further afield if some guests want to make a longer holiday of it.

Another alternative is for your guests to stay in our nearest city Angoulême, which has a wide choice of chic hotels and cool airbnbs, and is only 2.5hrs from Paris on the TGV, and only a 35min drive from us.

How many guests can you accommodate for the wedding day?

We can accommodate up to 60 guests for your wedding day, as well as for your next day BBQ if you choose to host this.

The barn can only seat 60 guests, and if the weather is too hot or there’s an unlikely chance of rain you will want your wedding feast in here.

How many nights can we stay at the venue?

Typically our couples stay for either 4 or 7 nights, we can do 3 night stays too if you prefer.

4 nights works perfectly:

  • Day 1: arrive and settle in
  • Day 2: a day for you, and to run through all the wedding plans together with your welcome dinner in the evening
  • Day 3: the wedding day
  • Day 4: a day for resting, or hosting a next day BBQ – why let the party end!
  • Departing the morning after

Some couples like to stay a week to enjoy the house and surrounding areas too.

Can we legally get married with you?

As with all wedding venues in France, we can’t legally marry you here at Manoir Beaulieu. French law states that marriages are only legal when conducted in the village Mairie (town hall).

You can legally get married in France if you want to, we are happy to put you in touch with our Mairie, but expect a lot of paperwork!

We suggest that all couples have the legal ceremony (or paper day) in their home country at their local registery office either before or after your wedding day with us.

For the wedding day we have a list of fantastic celebrants we can recommend, who will conduct a symbolic ceromony for you. Alternatively you can ask a family member or friend to conduct a personal ceremony.

What do you include in your quote

We pride ourselves on including all the essentials you will need to host your wedding here. Our quoted prices will always inculde: your dining tables and chairs, as well as ceremony seating, lighting around the grounds, decorative wine barrels, pool umbrellas and all your service bars.

We also include a relaxed welcome dinner and breakfast on the morning of the wedding for all your guests staying in the house. You’re more than welcome to invite additional guests to these, charged on a per head basis.

If you choose us for your food our in-house catering price per head also includes all staff for the entire day, crockery, glassware and cutlery. You can see our most recent food menus and pricing in the brochure.

Do you have a curfew?

We’re in a isolated location, however we do have neighbours over the valley – therefore we have a 12:30am curfew for all wedding guest to depart by, and any loud music (ie band or DJ) to end.

We don't speak French, can you help us?

Rest assured we can help. We have a great list of recommended suppliers, most of which are Engligh speaking. We can also help liase with only French speaking suppliers for you too.

Do we have to use a wedding planner?

No. We will never insist on you having a wedding planner. We pride ourselves on being here and on-site throughout your wedding day and stay, coordinating it for you with your vision in mind.

Over the last 4 years we have carefully curated a brilliant list of suppliers, all of whom are extremely talented and dedicated to making your day the best it can be.

Of course, if you’d like to bring or hire a wedding planner you absolutely can!

Can we book taxis?

Taxis aren’t something you can order on the day here in rural France – but we can help you organise them in advance! Coaches are a great way to get all your guests home safely after the party ends and we are happy to help coordinate these for you from France ahead of your wedding day.

Guests are also welcome to leave cars on-site over night. We have enough space for up to 100 cars.
